Project Developer

Purpose and scope of the role: To project manage the development and growth of new and existing wave energy generation project sites and to assist in the delivery of existing projects and securing of new business.

Location: Warwick

Reports To: Business Development Director

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Manage the project development process, including identification of sites, feasibility analysis, stakeholder consultation and management of the consenting, lease and grid connection agreement processes;
• Liaison with clients and key stakeholders to interpret requirements, develop scopes of works and preparation of proposals, grant claims or other revenue generating applications;
• Ensure the effective coordination, communication and delivery of project including planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting;
• Support project teams in delivery, including commercial support and communication with clients;
• Identify new opportunities for OPT as well as assisting in the Business Development activities of the Company; and
• Coordination and collation of project information as part of Company’s ongoing Business Planning processes.

Qualifications/experience:

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent ideally in a technical discipline;
• Ideally have over 3 years experience of project development, preferably from the marine, energy or power industries.
• Experience of managing environmental studies, consenting and permitting processes desirable; and
• Experience working in a business development would also be highly desirable
• Business French, Spanish or Portuguese an advantage.
